No tsunami risk to West Coast, Hawaii after massive 7.7-magnitude earthquake west of Fiji

A 7.7 magnitude quake has been recorded within the far Pacific.

The U.S. Geological Survey mentioned the quake Friday was close to the Loyalty Islands. It was 23 miles deep.

That's southwest of Fiji, north of New Zealand and east of Australia.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Heart mentioned waves as much as 3 meters (10 ft) above tides have been potential for Vanuatu. 

Smaller waves have been potential for Fiji, New Caledonia, Kiribati and New Zealand.

The Hawaii Emergency Administration Company mentioned there was "no tsunami risk" to Hawaii from the earthquake, whereas the U.S. Nationwide Tsunami Warning Heart mentioned a tsunami was "not anticipated" for the West Coast.
