A person has been charged after he allegedly assaulted an e-scooter rider in a highway rage incident in Melbourne's east final week.
Police allege the 18-year-old man adopted the e-scooter rider, who was travelling close to the Normanby Street underpass in Malvern about 4.30pm.
Driving in a silver Volkswagen Jetta sedan, the 18-year-old and one other man approached the rider whereas allegedly holding a weapon.
Police allege a bottle was thrown on the e-scooter rider, who shortly fled the scene.
The 2 males fled the scene within the sedan.
An 18-year-old Ferntree Gully man has since been arrested and charged with affray.
He was bailed to seem earlier than Ringwood Justice of the Peace's Courtroom on 2 June.
Police proceed to research the incident.
