'I am evil': Nurse accused of seven baby murders wrote confronting notes afterwards

A UK nurse accused of murdering seven infants and making an attempt to kill 10 others has denied ever making an attempt to hurt the infants in her care.
Lucy Letby is accused of killing the infants when she was working on the Countess of Chester Hospital neonatal unit.
Letby allegedly injected infants with air or deadly doses of insulin.

She was questioned on the stand over the allegations in opposition to her, the BBC experiences.
"Have you ever ever tried to hurt a child?" her defence barrister Ben Myers KC requested.
"No," she replied.
"Have you ever ever used insulin with the intention of harming a child?" he requested.
"No."
"Have you ever ever bodily assaulted a child?"
"No."

The court docket was proven scrawled notes present in Letby's residence after her arrest, which prosecutors argue present her guilt.
"I killed them on function as a result of I am not adequate," one observe reads.
"I'm evil. I did this.
"I'm an terrible individual."
Letby instructed the court docket that she was struggling along with her psychological well being when she wrote the notes after the infants' deaths.
