Clint Allen was heading residence about 1am yesterday after stunning his spouse with a birthday dinner on the Criterion Lodge in Sale when he was allegedly attacked.
The 38-year-old father allegedly obtained a stab wound to the chest. 20-year-old Spencer Shumski has been charged with homicide.
"We watched him die on the aspect of the street. We watched him die," spouse Bek Allen informed 9News.
The pair, together with their two daughters, had simply moved to the regional city from Melbourne's south-east in January this 12 months after spending 12 months travelling round Australia.
