A driver has escaped critical harm after his five-tonne truck caught fireplace on a busy Melbourne freeway this afternoon.
The truck, which contained timber and hardware merchandise, caught fireplace at about 4.30pm on the Monash Freeway.

Truck driver Jean-Bernard Toohim advised 9News the hearth occurred inside minutes.
"A little bit of smoke began popping out of the engine and the hearth began evenly," he mentioned.
"It simply obtained larger and greater."
The outbound entry ramp from Warrigal Highway to the Monash Freeway has since reopened.
