Bodycam footage has proven the second a person was chased down and arrested by police after allegedly assaulting one other man on the Gold Coast.
Police allege a 34-year-old man entered a verbal altercation with a gaggle of individuals, together with a 21-year-old man, close to a light-weight rail station on Cavill Avenue in Surfers Paradise round 2.50am immediately.
The youthful man then "moved behind" the 34-year-old and allegedly assaulted him, "forcing him to fall to the bottom", police stated.
Patrolling officers noticed the altercation and pursued the 21-year-old after he fled on foot.
"Officers tracked the person for a brief time frame, earlier than he was taken into custody close by," police say.
The 34-year-old was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening accidents.
