An aged man has been brutally bashed at his office throughout an alleged "ambush" in Adelaide's western suburbs.
The 71-year-old sufferer, who owns Truthful Dinkum Mechanic's on Port Highway in Woodville Park, was working when he was allegedly attacked simply after 11am.
9News understands the alleged attacker smashed via the workplace window and beat the person over the pinnacle with what witnesses describe as a sawn-off shotgun, earlier than fleeing on foot.
The person then allegedly dumped the weapon in a close-by automobile earlier than stealing a furnishings truck, with an worker turning into briefly trapped inside.
The truck was later discovered some 30 kilometres away.
The alleged attacker was arrested at an Elizabeth Downs property after closely armed police swarmed the house some two hours after the alleged assault.
Those that know the sufferer say they're "shocked" that he got here underneath assault, though police declare the duo are recognized to one another.
The aged man was launched from hospital after being handled with 22 stitches.
