A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck 90km from Luganville in Vanuatu at 5am this morning with a second 5.4 magnitude earthquake 114km from town at 6.30am.
No casualties have been instantly reported from the dual quakes.
There was no tsunami warning issued following the quakes which struck 10km deep.
