Lexington councilwoman, faith leaders hold town hall to address opioid crisis within the Black community

LEXINGTON, Ky. — A townhall addressing a rising disaster of opioid overdoses inside the Black neighborhood is at 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 17 at Consolidated Baptist Church, positioned at 1625 Russell Cave Street.

The townhall is occurring in partnership between LFUCG Councilwoman Denise Grey, the Kentucky Opioid Abatement Advisory Fee, and Consolidated Baptist Church.

The Kentucky Opioid Abatement Advisory Fee was created by the Common Meeting's unanimous passage of Home Invoice 427, which is a collaborative settlement amongst Kentucky and native governments to distribute the settlement proceeds from lawsuits in opposition to sure producers and distributors of opioids.
