A 72-year-old girl was arrested after she allegedly switched off a hospital roommate's ventilator — twice — as a result of she was irritated by the sound it made, authorities in Germany stated Thursday.
The lady was jailed on suspicion of tried manslaughter following the incident at a hospital within the southwestern metropolis of Mannheim on Tuesday night.
Police and prosecutors stated in a press release that the suspect is alleged to have switched off a 79-year-old girl's ventilator "after feeling disturbed by the noise coming from the oxygen machine."
