Gold Coast pedestrian hit and killed by ute

A pedestrian has died after he was hit by a ute on the Gold Coast in a single day.
The 41-year-old man was strolling close to the nook of Reedy Creeks Street and Mattocks Street, Burleigh Heads, round 11pm yesterday.
Queensland Police stated a ute was travelling east when the Nerang native was hit.

Regardless of emergency crews making an attempt to revive the person, he was declared useless on the scene.
The motive force of the ute, a 30-year-old Burleigh Heads man, is helping police with their investigation.
Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit has taken over the investigation and any witness or somebody who could have dashcam footage that may assist with police queries is urged to contact CrimeStoppers on 131 444.
A report will now be ready for the coroner.
