Will Smith's first movie since Oscars slap will be released in December

Will Smith's new movie "Emancipation" can be launched in December — his first main mission since he infamously slapped Chris Rock on the Oscars in March. Smith posted a trailer of the film on his social media pages and referred to as it the "hardest film I've ever made."   

"Blood, Sweat & Tears… LITERALLY! Shoutout to Apple who doubled (and tripled) down on their dedication to ship this epic story to the world," he wrote Monday. 

The film facilities round Smith's character, Peter, an enslaved man who escapes a Louisiana plantation and makes his manner north. Based on Apple, the movie was impressed by the 1863 pictures of  "Whipped Peter." One of many photos – often called "The Scourged Again" – exhibits Peter's naked again mutilated from whippings by his enslavers and it proved to be instrumental in shifting the general public sentiment in opposition to slavery.

"Emancipation" can be out in theaters on December 2 and accessible for streaming on Apple+ on December 9. 

The movie premiered in a complicated screening through the Congressional Black Caucus Basis's 51st Annual Legislative Convention over the weekend. NAACP President, Derrick Johnson was in attendance and praised the film.

The announcement of the film's launch date comes greater than six months Smith slapped Rock on stage through the Academy Awards ceremony. Smith hit Rock after he made a joke about his spouse Jada Pinkett Smith's shaved head. Rock likened Pinkett Smith to film character "G.I. Jane" as a result of she is bald due  to a prognosis of alopecia, which causes hair loss.
