New Kander & Ebb Musical ‘New York, New York’ Heads to Broadway With Lyrics By Lin-Manuel Miranda

The musical is impressed by the 1977 movie directed by Martin Scorsese, starring Liza Minnelli and Robert De Niro.

The brand new Kander & Ebb musical New York, New York will come to Broadway this spring. 

The musical, which options music and lyrics by the Chicago and Cabaret workforce John Kander and the late Fred Ebb, and extra lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, will play Broadway’s St. James Theatre beginning March 24, 2023. Opening evening is slated for April 26. 

The stage manufacturing isinspired by the 1977 movie, which was directed by Martin Scorsese and featured Liza Minnelli and Robert De Niro. Kander and Ebb composed songs for the movie. 

The Broadway musical takes place in New York in 1946 and follows a bunch of artists making an attempt to make it within the metropolis within the aftermath of World Conflict II. Susan Stroman (The Producers) directs and choreographs the stage adaptation, which includes a ebook by David Thompson and Sharon Washington.
