A former Buckingham Palace butler has mirrored on his favorite recollections with Queen Elizabeth II as he mourns her "surreal" loss of life.
Martin Higgins got here to be a butler at Buckingham Palace when he was 21 – his dream job from childhood – beginning simply after Christmas when the palace was adorned for the festive ball.

Higgins stated he fell in love with Her Majesty's corgis at first sight in addition to the grandeur of the palace.

"It was like, 'Oh my goodness,'" he stated.
"She checked out me. I checked out her. She smiled. I used to be completely petrified."
Higgins stated he danced with the Queen for about 5 minutes, however "it appeared like an eternity".
The dance broke protocol as Higgins needed to loop his arm across the Queen however the pair danced anyway.

Queen's loss of life is 'numbing and surreal'

Higgins stated the Queen's loss of life got here as a "shock" after he spent near 4 years as a member of the royal family.
