Meghan Markle Honors Queen Elizabeth II By Wearing Heartfelt Tribute At Her Funeral

Meghan Markle paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II at her funeral by sporting the gorgeous pearl earrings the monarch gave to her years in the past.

Meghan Markle arrived at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral sporting a touching tribute to the late monarch. The Duchess of Sussex wore her stunning pearl and diamond drop earrings that the Queen gifted to her throughout their first solo outing collectively in 2018.

Meghan wore a black costume with a cape and a wide-brimmed black hat for the Queen’s state funeral service. The 41-year-old and Prince Harry arrived individually on the funeral. Prince Harry walked behind the Queen’s coffin throughout its procession from Westminster Corridor to Westminster Abbey.

The couple reunited at Westminster Abbey, the place they walked side-by-side down the aisle behind the monarch’s coffin. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex walked behind Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte. They sat immediately behind King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla in the course of the funeral service.

Prince Harry and Meghan had been within the U.Okay. when the information broke that Queen Elizabeth II’s well being was deteriorating. Prince Harry traveled to Scotland solo from London to be along with his grandmother.  Sadly, he didn't make it in time earlier than the Queen handed away on September 8 on the age of 96.

The couple notably stepped down as senior royals in January 2020 and moved to Montecito, California. Their 2021 tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey widened the rift between the royal household and the couple.

Within the wake of the Queen’s loss of life, the household has put apart their tensions to be able to correctly honor the long-reigning monarch. Prince William invited Prince Harry and Meghan to a walkabout with Kate to view floral tributes to Queen Elizabeth II on September 10. Prince Harry and Meghan held palms as they attended the Queen’s coffin procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Corridor on September 14. Two days earlier than her funeral, Prince William and Prince Harry, sporting his army uniform, attended a vigil with different members of the royal household.
