Lightning kills man and woman aboard separate jet skis in Puerto Rico

Two folks aboard jet skis had been killed by lightning in waters alongside southern Puerto Rico, police stated Monday. Authorities stated lightning first struck a 36-year-old man driving a jet ski after which made contact with a 26-year-old girl who was a passenger on one other close by.

The driving force of the second jet ski was not injured.

Police stated the person died instantly whereas the lady died shortly after being introduced ashore.

The deaths occurred late Sunday afternoon as Tropical Storm Earl swirled northeast of the island, dropping heavy rain at instances.

In line with the Nationwide Lighting Security Council, Puerto Rico's final lightning fatality occurred nearly precisely 5 years earlier, on Sept. 5, 2017.

Two different folks on the island have been killed by lightning since 2006, in line with the group.
