Another large earthquake hits Taiwan

A powerful earthquake shook Taiwan on Sunday as a sequence aftershocks hit the self-governing island off China's east coast.
The 6.8 quake struck at a comparatively shallow depth of seven kilometres close to town of Taitung on the southeastern coast, Taiwanese authorities reported.
A two-story residential constructing collapsed close to the epicentre, based on a Taiwanese media report. The shaking was felt on the north finish of the island within the capital, Taipei.
Following the quake in Taiwan, Japan Meteorological Company issued an advisory for a tsunami as excessive as one metre reaching a number of southern Japanese islands. Climate officers urged residents in these areas to keep away from the shoreline.
