Mikhail Gorbachev, the previous president of the Soviet Union and world statesman, has died on the age of 92, Russian media has reported.
Gorbachev, whose tumultuous rule was related to the phrases perestroika and glasnost (reform and openness) died after an extended sickness, Russian state information businesses reported.
"Mikhail Sergeevich Gorbachev died this night after a extreme and extended sickness," the Central Scientific Hospital mentioned, in line with RIA/Novosti on Tuesday.

Gorbachev ended the Chilly Conflict with out bloodshed and was hailed a world statesman for his efforts in ending tensions with the West.
