Activist teams like Trade Blackout had described the challenge as a "direct insult to the Black neighborhood" in an open letter earlier on Tuesday.

Capitol Music Group on Tuesday stated it had “severed ties” with the A.I. rapper FN Meka after going through pushback from activist teams and observers that the digital rapper was a stereotypical caricature of Black artists.
“CMG has severed ties with the FN Meka challenge, efficient instantly. We provide our deepest apologies to the Black neighborhood for our insensitivity in signing this challenge with out asking sufficient questions on fairness and the inventive course of behind it. We thank those that have reached out to us with constructive suggestions prior to now couple of days — your enter was invaluable as we got here to the choice to finish our affiliation with the challenge,” a Capitol Music Group spokesperson instructed The Hollywood Reporter.
Earlier this month, Capitol Data introduced it had signed FN Meka and was releasing a single, “Florida Water,” with the artist Gunna and gaming streamer Cody “Clix” Conrad.
