Stockholm — An worker of an animal park in southwestern Sweden was gored to loss of life by a big antelope, the attraction's proprietor mentioned Monday. Richard Berglund instructed reporters that he witnessed the incident involving an eland as he was serving to the sufferer take the animals into stables after the park had closed. He did not give particulars.
"It was a good friend... we're all grieving," Berglund mentioned.
The goring occurred late Sunday on the Oland Animal and Leisure Park on the southwestern island of Oland. Police mentioned the case is being thought of a "office accident," which is commonplace process.
It was not identified exactly what occurred contained in the enclosure. The identification and citizenship of the deceased worker was not given.
There are two species of eland, each native to southern Africa, with the large selection listed as the most important antelope species on the planet. It was not instantly clear if the animal that killed the person on the park in Sweden was a large eland, or of the marginally smaller widespread eland species, which may nonetheless attain heights of virtually 6 ft on the shoulder and weigh over 2,000 kilos.
