93-year-old woman dead, two care home facility residents hospitalized after ingesting "toxic chemicals," police say

A 93-year-old girl was killed and two different residents of a care dwelling facility in northern California have been hospitalized this weekend after ingesting "poisonous chemical substances," native police stated Monday. It is not but clear why the residents ingested the chemical substances, and an investigation is underway. 

The San Mateo Police Division stated officers responded to the Atria Hillside care dwelling facility on Sunday evening on a report of a lady being poisoned. Authorities discovered three residents have been hospitalized after "ingesting poisonous chemical substances," and one later died, the division stated.  

Police didn't say what the chemical substances have been or why the residents ingested them. 

The police division stated its investigating the incident alongside the California Division of Social Providers Ombudsman, and famous that Atria Hillsdale is cooperating with the investigation. 

CBS Information couldn't instantly attain Atria Hillsdale for remark. Native station KRON-TV stated Atria Senior Residing confirmed to them in an announcement that the three residents have been hospitalized after "mistakenly being served dishwashing liquid as ingesting juice," however CBS Information couldn't independently confirm that assertion. 

The assertion additionally reportedly stated that the workers concerned within the incident have been suspended pending an inner investigation.
