Woman dies after two boats collide off Sydney's northern beaches

A girl has died in a ship crash off Sydney's northern seashores.

The accident occurred on Pittwater, off Elvina Bay about 7pm on Sunday.

Witnesses reported listening to a bang and somebody yelling for assist from the water.

NSW Police mentioned two small runabouts collided.

Emergency companies together with two ambulance helicopters, 4 ambulances and water police rushed to the scene, which is off the coast of the remoted Ku-Ring Gai Nationwide Park.

A girl discovered unconscious could not be saved, police mentioned.

A person in his 20s suffered head accidents and was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a steady situation, NSW Police mentioned.

Christine Marks from NSW Ambulance referred to as the scene "very tough".

"This was a significant mobilisation of emergency companies in very tough circumstances — pitch black, throughout chilly water, in a really inaccessible location," she mentioned.

"I am sorry that there is been such a tragic final result on this case."

Police are investigating and can put together a report for the coroner.
