Sailors rescued from capsized yacht in heavy seas off Wollongong

Two sailors have survived an ocean capsize after a dramatic rescue in excessive sea situations by the crew of the Royal Australian Navy destroyer HMAS Brisbane.
The pair spent 15 hours within the ocean after their yacht capsized close to Wollongong on the NSW South Coast at 1am on Saturday.
The vessel was first reported lacking at 1pm, sparking a search by HMAS Brisbane.

The 2 sailors have been quickly discovered, after a passing vessel noticed them.
They have been discovered clinging to their vessel and have been rescued in 56km/h winds and two-metre swells.
Regardless of spending hours within the ocean, the 2 sailors have been assessed as being in good situation.
