A 49-year-old man has been arrested after one other man was gunned down on a suburban road in south-east Melbourne.
After they arrived, they discovered a person lifeless, who's but to be recognized.
Police then arrested a 49-year-old who lives in a close-by unit.
He stays in custody however has not been charged.
Neighbours have mentioned they heard three pictures in fast succession about 8pm, with one saying they thought "it was truly a fireplace cracker going off".
In an announcement, police mentioned they don't consider the loss of life is linked to different current shootings.
It's believed there was an altercation between the sufferer and the shooter proper earlier than the assault.
Anybody who witnessed the incident or with dashcam footage or CCTV is urged to contact police.
