A father ignored his hearing loss until his daughter, who took a class on it, pushed him to see a doctor. It was a brain tumor.

Even earlier than she took a category at Auburn College on listening to loss, Rachel Ruhlin knew one thing was off together with her father, Joe. 

"We'd say one thing to him and he wouldn't hear it or he would repeat issues and we would be like, 'Properly, we simply mentioned that,'" she instructed CBS Information. 

The extra she discovered, the extra she pushed him to get his listening to checked. However he wasn't anxious. 

"I believed, perhaps again in my 20s I used to be at a live performance that was actually loud or one thing like that and I tousled my one ear," he instructed CBS Information. 

When she was residence for Thanksgiving, Ruhlin insisted her father see a health care provider. Since his listening to loss was solely in his left ear, her dad assumed he'd simply be getting a listening to help. 

"We by no means would have thought that it was a mind tumor," he mentioned. 

It was a tumor known as an acoustic neuroma. If left untreated, it may be deadly. 

"We do not know what would have occurred if I did not take that class," Ruhlin mentioned. 

This Father's Day, Ruhlin and her dad are particularly grateful.

"I am simply comfortable that we'll have many extra years collectively," Joe mentioned.
