A vacation house belonging to one among South Australia's most revered trauma docs was destroyed this morning after it went up in flames.
Emergency companies have been referred to as to the house, of retired Adelaide trauma specialist, Dr Invoice Griggs, in Goolwa South, 67km south of Adelaide, simply earlier than 5am.
The home was vacant on the time of the hearth and police say there have been no stories of any accidents.
The flames have been so excessive they leapt excessive stage of the double-storey riverside house.
Neighbours swung into motion when the fierce wall of fireside began threatening their very own properties.
John Bailey was one of many neighbours pressured to guard his house from the blaze.
"Neighbours on the opposite aspect and myself and one other neighbour began hitting it with the hoses ready for the hearth vehicles to reach," Bailey stated.

The neighbouring houses have been spared, however Griggs' house was not as fortunate.
Brittany Evans from the South Australian Nation Hearth Service stated by the point firefighters arrived on the scene there was nothing that could possibly be achieved to save lots of the house.
"Crews labored exhausting to guard the 2 intently neighbouring properties with the hearth contained to the house. Whole losses are estimated to be about $1 million," Evans stated.
