Alleged gunman arrested after shots fired on Gold Coast

A person has been arrested after gunshots have been allegedly fired exterior a Gold Coast resort this afternoon.
Police have been known as to Surfers Paradise round 1pm after it was reported an armed man was chasing one other man down the esplanade.
Police stated the 2 males had been combating exterior a high-rise on Hamilton Avenue, when one of many males allegedly pulled out a gun, firing pictures on the different man.

"We had a number of experiences of an armed male on the esplanade at Surfers Paradise," senior sergeant Angelique Maloney stated.
"We have been knowledgeable that a shot had been fired."
Officers adopted the gunman, who was discovered hiding in close by bushes.
"A subsequent search of the person allegedly positioned a firearm in his possession," police stated.
"Officers instantly attended the scene and carried out in depth patrols of the realm.
