A two-storey dwelling on Sydney's North Shore has been engulfed in flames, with the aged proprietor narrowly escaping.
Greater than 20 firefighters battled the blaze, which tore via the roof of the house on Raglan Avenue in Mosman after 2.30pm at present.
The proprietor was inside on the time the hearth broke out however escaped unhurt.
Neighbours have been shocked by the hearth after town noticed a reasonably moist day.
"Very shocking that there's a hearth in Mosman in a home with a tile roof on a day the place it is pouring with rain," one resident stated.
9News understands the house owners of the house have been as a result of begin renovating.
An investigation into the reason for the hearth is underway.
