Two senior police constables have spent the evening in hospital after being attacked throughout a wild brawl outdoors a Gold Coast nightclub.
One officer was knocked unconscious after being hit from behind, allegedly by a drunk 21-year-old.
The officer's companion tried to battle again a gaggle of drunken revellers on Orchid Avenue in Surfers Paradise.
The senior constables, each of their 40s, have been known as to the Havana RnB Nightclub to interrupt up a battle between revellers on the entrance.
Partygoers advised 9News the commotion began contained in the membership after they declare one reveller was punched on the bar throughout birthday celebrations.
After they have been kicked out of the venue, the battle sprawled onto the road.
Enterprise house owners say violence within the occasion precinct is escalating.
Restaurant proprietor Susie Tucker stated she would not let anyone out of her restaurant when the battle broke out.
"It is scary simply strolling down the road after midnight," she stated.
Shane Prior from the Queensland Police Union stated officers do not go to work to be assaulted.
"We as police are appalled by this vicious assault of thuggery and cowardice," he stated.
Each law enforcement officials have been taken to hospital. They've since been discharged.
Three males have been charged over the assault together with a 21-year-old Coomera man, who allegedly delivered the blow that knocked the officer unconscious, and ran away earlier than police arrested him.
All have been launched on bail and have been banned from coming into the precinct.
