Two younger males who stopped on the facet of a Sunshine Coast highway to restore a damaged down bus have been killed after being struck by a automotive.
The pair – a 25-year-old from Currimundi and 22-year-old from Baringa – have been making an attempt to repair the bus, which had damaged down on the facet of Nambour Connection Street at Woombye at 3.30pm yesterday, when the westbound car hit them.
Each males – reportedly mechanics – have been critically injured and have been transferred to Sunshine Coast College Hospital however later died.
A 43-year-old Warana lady who was the motive force and sole occupant of the automotive was not injured in the course of the incident and is helping police with their inquiries.
Nobody was on board the bus on the time and authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.
