A person aged in his 40s has been launched after he turned caught head first in a septic tank for greater than an hour in Sydney's northern suburbs, sparking an pressing emergency rescue operation.
The tank, positioned at a property on Myoora Highway in Terrey Hills is 2.3 metres deep.
The person was free of the tank after a 40-minute rescue operation and was taken to Northern Seashores Hospital in a secure situation.
Inspector Charnan Kurth from NSW Ambulance stated the person was trapped whereas water contained in the tank was rising.
"NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived on scene and have been confronted with a difficult scene, the person was unable to free himself and had acknowledged that the water contained in the tank was rising."
The person was discovered when a canine that lives on the property he was engaged on began whimpering, alerting his proprietor 13-year-old Kayla.
Kayla discovered the person, rang triple-0 and threw a rope into the tank for the person to seize onto.
"Had the canine not heard the person's cries, it might not have been such a great ending," stated the paramedic.
