Floodwaters have since receded however companies are left with a mammoth clean-up with gear destroyed, inventory ruined, and spirits waning.

Ron Delardes, who owns a newsagency in Byron, stated the flooding was a shock to him and different locals.

Ms Vickers is not sure if the bakery will reopen in time for Easter as a result of price and shortage of bakery gear.
