Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has examined optimistic for COVID-19 and can now isolate for the subsequent seven days.
In an announcement Mr Andrews mentioned he was prompted to undertake a fast antigen check (RAT) after creating gentle signs together with a sore throat and a gentle temperature.
"I've examined optimistic to COVID-19 and can now isolate for the subsequent seven days," the Premier mentioned.
"To this point, Cath and the youngsters have examined adverse. As they're shut contacts, they will even isolate for the subsequent seven days."
In a follow-up tweet, the Premier mentioned whereas his signs had been gentle he had "stocked up" on Panadol previous to contracting the virus.
Mr Andrews mentioned whereas he's isolating Deputy Premier James Merlino might be appearing premier till Monday, April 4.
This morning Victoria reported 8,739 new circumstances of COVID-19.
Mr Andrews might be included in tomorrow's figures.
The state is at present managing nearly 57,000 lively circumstances, the vast majority of whom had been detected with using self-administered RATs.
