Jada Pinkett Smith makes first statement after Oscar slap: 'This is a season for healing'

Actress Jada Pinkett Smith has made her first public assertion since her husband Will Smith slapped comic Chris Rock on the Oscars Sunday night time.

"This can be a season for therapeutic and I am right here for it," she posted to Instagram Tuesday morning.   

It comes after Will Smith issued an apology to Rock Monday, stating that his conduct was "out of line" and "not indicative of the person I need to be."

Rock himself has not made any public statements because the incident.

The Academy of Movement Image Arts and Sciences formally condemned Smith's actions Monday and introduced a assessment to find out if "penalties" are warranted.

Rock, referencing Pinkett Smith's bald head, recommended she can be starring in a sequel to the 1997 film "G.I. Jane."

"Jada, I really like you, 'G.I. Jane 2,' cannot wait to see it."

Pinkett Smith has talked prior to now about having the hair-loss situation alopecia. And her husband, who initially appeared to snort on the quip, then lumbered on stage and slapped Rock.

"Will Smith simply smacked the s--- out of me," Rock informed the gang, who initially laughed, pondering it was a bit.

Smith returned to his seat, then yell at Rock twice, "maintain my spouse's identify out of your f----- mouth."

Minutes later, Smith received one of the best actor award for his portrayal of Richard Williams, the daddy of Venus and Serena Williams, in "King Richard."
