Queensland boy dies after mauled by family dog

A two-year-old boy has died in hospital after being attacked by the household canine in far north Queensland.
The boy was mauled by the canine on the household's Mena Creek property and rushed to Innisfail Hospital on Saturday January 29 round 1.15pm.
The toddler was airlifted to Townsville Hospital with important head accidents, the place he underwent emergency surgical procedure.
The toddler couldn't be saved and was put in an induced coma.
He died yesterday afternoon.
"Queensland Police will put together a report for the Coroner relating to the loss of life of a toddler in Townsville Hospital in a single day, following an incident at an Innisfail property on Saturday January 29," a police assertion learn.
