Israeli strawberry clocks in as world's heaviest on record

After a year-long jam, a mammoth Israeli strawberry is getting into the report books.
Weighing a whopping 289 grams the titanic berry this week was declared the world's largest by Guinness World Data.
The strawberry was picked on Chahi Ariel's household farm close to town of Netanya in central Israel in February 2021. However solely this week, Guinness confirmed it because the heaviest on report.

The earlier record-holder for the heaviest strawberry was was a Japanese fruit grown in 2015 in Fukuoka that tipped the scales at 250 grams.
The wait turned out to be fruitful.
Mr Ariel mentioned he jumped up and down in his automobile, laughing and singing when he obtained the information. “We're very completely happy to be within the Guinness World Data," he mentioned.
