Andrew Jaunay, 50, was discovered responsible of assaulting then 17-year-old Matthew Odgers throughout a search at Whyalla Stuart, 386km out of Adelaide, eight years in the past.
Jaunay struck the teenager with an open hand, knocking him to the bottom.
