Australian Defence Force accuses Chinese Navy of lasing aircraft in 'serious safety incident'

The Australian Defence Pressure (ADF) has issued a press release saying a Chinese language naval vessel pointed a laser at an Australian plane in what it says is a "critical security incident".
The ADF stated an Australian P-8A Poseidon plane detected that it was being illuminated by a laser coming from a Individuals's Liberation Military Navy (PLA-N) ship to the north of Australia on February 17.
"Acts like this have the potential to hazard lives," the ADF assertion learn.

"We strongly condemn unprofessional and unsafe army conduct.
"These actions might have endangered the protection and lives of the ADF personnel.
"Such actions usually are not in step with the requirements we anticipate of professional militaries."

The ADF stated the Chinese language ship was within the Arafura Sea with one different PLA-N vessel, and that each have now arrived within the Coral Sea after shifting by the Torres Strait.
