Teen's body found after fall from houseboat on Murray River

The body of a 17-year-old girl has been pulled from Murray River in South Australia after she fell from a houseboat on New Year's Eve.

The Adelaide Hills girl was found in the river south of Swan Reach about 2pm, near to where she fell in about 17 hours earlier.

Emergency services and members of the public spent the night and day scouring the water and riverbank searching for her.

The girl fell off a houseboat on New Year's Eve.(Nine)

Police were alerted to girl having fallen into the water around 9.15pm yesterday.

The search extended into the late hours of the night. (9News)

She was seen falling off a house boat but was not seen to resurface afterwards.
