Man arrested over fatal stabbing in Sydney's west

A person has been arrested over the deadly stabbing of one other man in western Sydney.

The 56-year-old man is in police custody after he allegedly fled the scene of the alleged assault in Toongabbie at round 6.30 yesterday.

Emergency providers had been referred to as to Toongabbie and located a 45-year-old man with stab wounds to his stomach and head mendacity exterior his house on Valeria Road.

Cops gave him first help, however the man died earlier than paramedics arrived.

It's understood that he was father-of-one, Shane Naylor.

"It wasn't a random assault," Detective Performing Inspector Adam Wilson from NSW Police stated.

"It was focused," he stated.

The assault has left locals disturbed.

"It is probably not good as a result of it is near house. All of us have youngsters round right here," native Carrie Darcy stated.

Strike Drive Haskett has been fashioned to analyze the incident, with detectives from Blacktown Police Space Command and the State Crime Command's Murder Squad working collectively.
